French President Emmanuel Macron will take to the stage at the 10th edition of VivaTech, organisers have announced.

Macron, who has become one of Europe’s most prominent voices on technology policy and artificial intelligence, will speak at the Paris event on June 18 as discussions around AI governance, innovation and Europe’s technological competitiveness continue to intensify.

His appearance comes as France seeks to strengthen its position as a leading hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, while supporting broader European ambitions to compete with the United States and China in the global technology race.

Over recent years, Macron has played a prominent role in international debates on AI, advocating for a European approach that combines innovation with regulation and democratic oversight. He has appeared at major global events focused on artificial intelligence, including the Summit for AI Action in Paris and the Global Forum for AI Governance.

According to VivaTech organisers, Macron will address attendees on the key challenges shaping the future of artificial intelligence and Europe’s role in the rapidly evolving global technology landscape.

The French president has consistently argued for a “strong, sovereign and open” technological Europe, positioning AI as both an economic opportunity and a strategic priority for the continent.

VivaTech, one of Europe’s largest technology and start-up events, is marking its 10th anniversary this year. The annual gathering attracts entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and technology leaders from around the world to discuss innovation, emerging technologies and the future of business.

Macron’s appearance is expected to be one of the headline moments of the event, as Europe continues to debate how best to balance innovation, competitiveness and regulation in the age of artificial intelligence.
