Blue Origin chief executive Dave Limp will join former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino for a discussion at the 10th anniversary edition of VivaTech in Paris, organisers have announced.

Limp, who took the helm at Blue Origin in December 2023, has overseen a period of significant growth and transformation at the aerospace company as it seeks to expand commercial access to space and build the infrastructure needed for a future space economy.

The session will see Limp interviewed by Massimino, the former NASA astronaut best known for his role in servicing the Hubble Space Telescope during multiple space shuttle missions. The conversation is expected to focus on the future of space exploration, commercial spaceflight and the rapidly evolving global space economy.

Before joining Blue Origin, Limp spent 14 years at Amazon, where he served as Senior Vice President and led the development of several flagship products, including Echo, Alexa, Kindle and Fire TV. He is widely recognised for scaling ambitious technology projects from concept to mass-market adoption.

Under his leadership, Blue Origin has continued work on a range of projects designed to support long-term space infrastructure. These include the New Glenn rocket programme, which recently achieved a successful orbital mission and booster landing, as well as lunar landers and propulsion systems intended to support future missions to the Moon.

Massimino brings a different perspective to the discussion. As a veteran astronaut and bestselling author, he has firsthand experience of operating in space and is regarded as one of the most recognisable figures in modern space exploration.

Organisers said the conversation will offer attendees a rare opportunity to hear from both a leader building the future of commercial spaceflight and an astronaut who has experienced the realities of space exploration firsthand.

The appearance forms part of VivaTech’s 10th anniversary programme, which will bring together technology leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers from around the world to discuss the future of innovation and emerging technologies.
